About us

It's our belief that when communities engage in authentic stories in the languages they speak at home, they truly flourish.

We provide premium multilingual literature, imported directly from all over the world to schools and libraries that are on the path toward culturally & linguistically responsive practices. Our book festivals are in tremendous demand, and offer communities festive spaces to celebrate books in their home language.

In partnership, we can empower generations through literacy, language, and culture.

How we started

Verónica Ramos is the founder and CEO of ¡WEPA! libros. 

She started ¡WEPA! libros with the mission to make noteworthy multilingual literature accessible for children in the US. When communities have access to native language books that highlight authentic narratives, children are equipped to become powerful agents of change.

Prior to launching the business, Veronica spent a decade in the field of education. She began her career as an ESL educator, became a leader, university instructor & mentored the bilingual teacher pipeline in Chicago. Her experience in education serves as the catalyst in making ¡WEPA! libros a partner for community hubs that serve multilingual communities.  

Verónica has a deep personal commitment to serving multilingual communities, and has volunteered her time supporting refugee resettlement, immigrant education, and mentoring migrant students.

She has a BA in Spanish Language & Literature, Masters in Educational Leadership, and specializations in Bilingual & Special Education. 

Verónica currently lives in the Chicagoland area with her husband, daughter Vida, son Enrique, and her bilingual pets Nacho & Luquillo.
